- The Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, has closed a US$135 million project finance loan for renewable energy generation company Aela Energía for the construction, use and maintenance of three wind projects located in Chile.
- The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has announced up to US$210 million in debt financing to enhance Egypt’s renewable energy sector. The solar power project aims to strengthen Egypt’s power generation capacity and reduce dependence on gas and fuel.
- International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, is lending US$40 million to Companhia Brasileira de Fertilizantes (Cibra), one of the leading distributors of high quality fertilizer in Brazil.
- The Dutch development bank FMO has underwritten US$39 million senior debt for the financing of the 16 megawatt rand 6 megawatt Nyamagasani one and two run-of-the-river hydropower projects in Uganda
- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will increase financing to small-and medium-sized enterprises in Morocco by €20 million, provided in local currency
- The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a €15 million equity investment in the Mediterrania Capital Fund III. The fund is under the management of Capital Partners (MCP), which manages over €220 million in assets through two other funds invested in North Africa.
- The China Development Bank has signed a framework agreement with Russia’s Vnesheconombank to participate in Russia’s US$2 billion of innovation projects.
- The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT) to promote low-carbon and high-speed rail infrastructure investments by Japanese companies in the UK.
- The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a 2.24 billion yen grant agreement with the government of India in Delhi for the construction of an international cooperation and convention centre in Varanasi.
