Development Finance and CDC launch first podcast

16th March 2018

In the first episode of this collaborative podcast, we discuss the role of development finance institutions in alleviating poverty around the world. CDC, the UK’s development finance institution, spoke to Nanno Kleiterp, chairman of the European Development Finance Institutions’ association (EDFI), along with Mussa Chayenda at 14Trees, a business that has received DFI investment.

Development Finance’s editor Jack Aldane visited the author and former director of the World Bank Development Research Group, Sir Paul Collier, who explains why there needs to be greater risk appetite among the leading development agencies and why many have not performed sufficiently in generating productivity.

Development Finance will continue to release podcast episodes featuring insight from leaders of financial institutions, such as those we have spoken to in the magazine. Recent interviews have included Philippe Le Houérou, CEO of International Finance Corporation (IFC), Ray Washburne, CEO of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), and Sir Suma Chakrabarti, president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Our goal is to deliver the most sought-after voices in the industry to listeners, wherever they are.

Thanks for listening.
